Hi Juan,
Can you recommend a good book on working with Access and SQL server.
Also, I have not yet up-sized my Access database and I know I will want to do so soon. Do you recommend waiting for the next version of Access to see if the option of storing the data on SharePoint server with Access services will be better then on SQL server (on a LAN environment)? I assume both options provide better security and quicker processing times compared with a split Access + Jet where the BE is on the server. I assume that using the SQL Server will be cheaper. The company I am thinking of actually have SQL server 8 installed on their server. I just never worked with it before but I am proficient with Access.
Thanks
Gilad,
Don’t wait, go ahead and use SQL Server with Access. I recommend the following book:
http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Access-Developers-Guide-Server/dp/0672319446/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1342453328&sr=8-13&keywords=sql+server+with+access
Thanks greatly Juan for your recommendation, I will get the book.
But I was wondering if you can please elaborate just a little. I am very interested in knowing your point of view, because of my respect for you and your knowledge and also since you wrote that you have seen something of the new expected version (if I understood correctly). I was hoping for a little more explanation that will give me some insight for my choice. I assume that I am not the only one pondering over this matter.
Thanks again
Gilad
I have tried all morning to see the webinar training. I finally gave up at 8:50 Arizona time. Started at 6:10 AM arizona time
We have now posted the presentation online, sorry to hear you had problems, will correct in the future.

Hi juan, any sources on VFP 9 vs. ms access 03/07/10 on both application and record processing speed in client server using odbc and shared dbf and mdb? my own observation (although i’m a ms access diehard), VFP left msa in the dust!
Distribution is very easy in VFP, why MSTF will not create distribution of MSA like VFP. Rushmore was a VFP technology?
